–In-Game Description

Modified for operations in the Askonia system under orders from Supreme Executor Philip Andrada, this hull includes integrated solar shielding as well as a peculiar internal cladding provided by an industrial conglomerate out of Sindria itself. That the chief designer, appointed by the Supreme Executor for his many cycles of loyal service, sits on the board of that conglomerate is simply an example of the unity and efficiency of the Sindrian Polity.

The Sunder-class Destryoyer is a midline design fielded by the Persean League and Sindrian Diktat.

Overview[]

The Sunder is a midline destroyer with a large energy hardpoint. Its High Energy Focus ship system increases the damage dealt when used.

Loadout Tips[]

A Sunder has two different roles it can fulfill: Attack or Support. Due to energy weapons having very well defined ranges, non-beam weapons encoruage the former, and beam weapons the latter. Vents should be maxed where possible, especially if equipped with a particularly high flux large weapon.

Weapons[]

Sunders tend to work well with a High Intensity Laser. They should be paired with Graviton Beams or Ion Beams to help lean more into its support role. Alternatively, a Tachyon Lance can be used, trading sustained fire for burst damage. In either case, long-ranged Sunders don't typically get in range, so its two front small ballistics can be mounted with Light Needlers for kinetic damage.

For a more direct Sunder, an Autopulse Laser paired with either Ion Pulsers or Phase Beams gives it very high DPS for short periods of time. In this case, point defense Point defense is advisables.

Hullmods[]

Advanced Optics should be put in if the Sunder is equipped with a beam weapon. Similarly, if the large is a magazine-based weapon like the autopulse, Expanded Magazines will give it more sustained firepower, especially if it's built-in. However, this does force the Sunder to equip an Autopulse Laser if it wants to take advantage of the bonus.

Safety Overrides[]

A Sunder with Safety Overrides should be equipped with a Plasma Cannon. However, because of its high flux cost to begin with, it's completely valid to have it be the only weapon equipped, plus any missiles.
