The Loop (Games)

Increases the resources gained from salvaging abandoned stations, derelicts, floating hulks, and other such by 10%/25%/30%/40%, depending on hull size. Only affects the recovery of common resources such as fuel and supplies, and not rare items like blueprints. In addition, 20% of the bonus applies to post-battle salvage.
Notes[edit | edit source]
- Stacks with diminishing returns with other Salvage Gantries in the fleet. Mouse over the hullmod in the refit screen & hit F1 to see the current total values.
- Does not affect the chance of recovering special items such as blueprints.
- Will not apply its bonus if the ship is below 10% CR.
- This is built into the Shepherd and Salvage Rig.
- Does not drop as a modular hullmod spec. Only available via built-in hullmod on certain ships
- There are currently no cruiser or capital class ships with this non-modular hullmod.
- Interesting side note; 1 Salvage Rig + 5 Shepherds offers the same salvage bonus as 3 Salvage Rigs, due to how the diminishing returns work. But 5 Shepherds alone offer much less bonus than 2 Salvage Rigs do, because the diminishing returns calculation puts things into terms of your largest single Salvage Gantry bonus
Maths[edit | edit source]
total = sum of all salvage bonuses in the fleet max = single largest salvage rig bonus in the fleet bonus = the end result salvage modifier bonus = total * { [ log( total / max ) / log(2.5) ] + 1 } / ( total / max )

Only up to date for version 0.9. It is likely still broadly correct but not verified for the most up to date data yet. Please double check the Version History
