The Rift Cascade Emitter shares many similarities with the Tachyon Lance as both are burst beam weapons with identical range and rate of fire. However, the Rift Cascade Emitter deals less direct damage and no EMP damage, and is less efficient in terms of flux and ordnance points. Instead, it creates space-time rifts around the target ship's outline on impact. More rifts are spawned when the beam is fired at short range. Each rift deals up to 1000 energy damage to nearby targets.
