Fast, deadly and well-armored, the Gladius excels at improving both the firepower and survivability of interceptor groups. However, when facing durable opponents, the small number of craft in a wing begins to tell.

Jack of all trades but master of none, the Gladius is a hybrid between interceptor and a heavy fighter and a more generalist alternative to the Broadsword. It can still do an okay job distracting enemy PD with flares and fluxing up the target with Light Machine Guns, but in a pinch it also has an IR Pulse Laser to deal with enemy fighters; it is also significantly faster than the Broadsword, but with noticeably less tank. It is recommended to pair it with other specialized fast fighters such as Wasps or Claws, as there are superior options in both pure escort or interceptor roles.
