The Enforcer-class ships commonly serve in system or convoy defense roles. The design features good armor and multiple ballistic hardpoints, while shield performance is somewhat underwhelming.

The blueprints of the ship call for many components similar to the ones found in the design of Onslaught-class battleships, suggesting that the designs were created during a similar epoch of the Domain. The Enforcer-class features similar no-nonsense weapon system design choices, though bulkheads, and is well regarded by its crews.

Tough to beat in a destroyer to destroyer fight, the Enforcer rarely takes part in larger battles due to the common view that its low speed makes it a liability. Nonetheless, Hegemony order of battle doctrines mandate an attached Enforcer squadron as a screen for Onslaught-class battleships. The logistical ease with which shared components can be used by both ship types is exactly the type of detail that excites Hegemony Logisticarum bureaucrats.

This ship has been heavily modified - and poorly maintained - by its pirate crew.

–In-Game Description

A survivor of the original 14th Domain Battlegroup which founded the Hegemony, this ship is a prime specimen of the Domain Navy's 'decisive battle' doctrine, particularly exhibited by a series of radical structural modifications performed using pre-Collapse industrial technology.

Notes[]

Firing linked Annihilator Rocket Launchers while Burn Drive is active will cause the rockets to stack up on top of each other, so they all hit at about the same time. While it has excellent hardpoints, weapon coverage and armour, as well as reasonable shield strength and mobility, the Enforcer suffers with its appalling flux statistics and poor average speed, which is routinely outclassed by stock frigates. It is often wise to max out flux vents first before adding any weapons in order to ensure that the enforcer will actually have enough flux to keep them firing in a fight.

The Enforcer (XIV) has the second highest ratio of Ordnance Point to Deployment Cost for any destroyer in the game (12:1) behind the Buffalo Mk.II. This combined with its poor flux statistics means that the converted hangar hullmod is easily used as additional fire support for the Enforcer without straining its flux systems. It's high armor, decent base peak performance time and turreted armament allows it to be an effective all in one escort ship if fielded in sufficient numbers. Care should still be taken as the enforcer is still very slow for a destroyer so support via lighter frigates such as Lashers, Vanguards or dedicated carrier-based fighters is recommended. Should the player allow the enforcer to duel with another destroyer without being harassed at range it will prove a significant asset despite it's class and size.
