Weapons choice is too subjective to belong on a wiki, especially since most (if not all) weapons are well balanced to be viable to different builds.
Hullmod tips are fine imo though, since a small subset of hullmods can change specific ships drastically, such as safety override, frontal shield
Just Updated
How you find the .png for missile weapons with the missiles actually racked in them? Same with ballistic weapons with recoil barrels.
All the DEM lack their sprites on the info pages and I would add but don't know where to find the .png
Hello everyone!
I'm sure most of you have noticed the little site notice appearing on the wiki about the MediaWiki 1.39 update. I just wanted to give a little bit more information about it.
What's being updated? Mostly coding underneath the hood. There will be no major design changes. Consider it like replacing the battery of a car - the car will still be the same outwardly, but it just needs some updates underneath.
All Fandom wikis will be updating to MediaWiki 1.39 in the coming month. I don't have an exact timeline at this moment, but expect it to happen in mid-March or April. During the migration to 1.39, the wikis will be set in read-only mode. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes (major wikis could need more hours). One week before migration, a banner will appear on communities to let you know the migration is scheduled. For one week after the migration, a similar banner to let users know the community is now on the new version.
Most importantly, if you experience any bugs after the move, please either report them to the admins (who will then forward them to me) or directly to me either on my message wall or Discord. We've done our best to squash and take note of any bugs in our testing phase, but any additional pokes would be greatly appreciated!
Please check out the help page on Community Central for a changelog and further information. ^^
Any suggestions or personal preferances on fighting/scav/smug fleet compositions? been playing with default explorer starting ships and got to a point i have 9mil credits and confused on what to buy for what roles.. im wanting to build/buy ships i can swap in and out for certain situations ect and if possible the weapon/caps/vents & hullmod set ups for each ship you use, Playing TABS in the simulator is only getting me so far in learning the ropes of what ships are capable of so any outside help from those with more experience would be a brucy bonus, thanks in advance.
Can someone explain why I can't capture the planet of the Luddian Way, when I have everything for this, and the "Join the fight" button just doesn't light up. I've checked on other planets and everything works there.
Soo whenever i travel or go to a fight i loose too much supplies and supplies are bloody expensive soo how do i balance em out so that i don't spend half of my profits on supplies
Just started the game around 2 days ago. My first save used the randomized start while my second started with the Hammerhead start.
My first slot was really bad. I got turned off the bad rates of the tutorial junkyard and failed to scavenge it, therefore running low on supplies. Mere moments from the station the Wolf I scavenged died to low combat readiness. Completed the tutorial and entered hyperspace only to get almost immediately obliterated by a pirate fleet. Managed to get out of that but after playing a while I realized how crap the save was so I loaded a new one.
Skipped tutorial, ran around. Got a fair bunch of loot from scavenging a system like 5 light years from core worlds. “Bought” an Apogee for 44k credits and 50 marines through a mission. Scavenged the tutorial system and got some ships; however due to budget constraints I had to strip the wolf and I also couldn’t put anything on the Condor(for some reason). Enroute to a system to run a scan on a derelict ship, I get intercepted by a pirate fleet with 2 destroyers and a Venture cruiser. After a heated battle costing me a wolf, a centurion and 2 lashers(scrapped the lashers, restored the others), I proceeded to the target ship only to find it was a Fourteenth Battlefleet Falcon…which I promptly restored. There was a hammerhead and venture too but I had to scrap them for what little supplies they had. Ran out enroute to Zasan(or some other core world); hoping nothing dies during the transit.
So yeah, fun game guys, would recommend
Hi there !
I started a Wiki in French there that is meant to be a translation of this wiki : https://starsector.fandom.com/fr/wiki/Wiki_StarSector
I suggest that we should use a great Fandom tool called "interlanguage link" in order to start translation of wiki in several languages (With that tool, each language should have its own wiki, it's just connecting them to each other) :
https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Help:Interlanguage_link
It greatly help navigate from one language to another for each page of the wiki. To allow that I must ask Fandom to connect together the two wikis by posting a request there : https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Project:Interlanguage_link_requests
Do you guys agree with that ? Could I send a request ?
By using these tools we could quite easily make a multi-language wiki !
Also, I wanted to use shared images in order to use this wiki's pictures but it turns out that with the mess created by the new Unified Community Plateform (launched by Fandom after the Gamepedia aquisition) it looks like it's not possible at the moment. The documentation is still existing there :
How come I find this game now by accident and not years ago? It's a shame, really but I'm glad I'm here now... Guess it will take some time to learn the game but I'm more then willing to.
Is this forum a good place to ask questions or are there maybe more active forums on this?
Kind regards from the Netherlands
More specifically how do I approach planets with my Transponder off
I get the general idea of black market tradding.
Come to the market, buy your product, go somewhere that needs it, make sure to trade some legal goods too so your suspicion doesn't skyrocket.
But how am I supposed to approach a planet stealthily. it seems like the second I turn my transponder off and go dark everyone knows where I am and makes a B-line for me.
Even switching it back on can't get the cops off my back and as soon as they get close they start shooting to kill even if we are on friendly terms.
Also is there anyway to retrieve market data for a planet i'm not in orbit of?
How do I set my screen to 3840 x 2160?
I don't see the option during starting the game (it maxs around 1600)
However, if I scale my desktop to 125% all of a sudden the 3840 resolution choice appears!
What's up? How can I get this to happen without my little dance with the scaling of the desktop?
There are some characters in the game that are unique to the core worlds / events that they are involved in. These characters have unique features such as predetermined skill sets and unique portraits from a selection of specific portraits found in the starsector-core/graphics/portraits/character folder.
However, there are no wikipedia pages mentioning any of these characters or at least I haven't been able to find any.
